There are many events celebrating the rich cultural tradition of the Indian tribes of California. We will feature links on this page to up and coming cultural activities we feel will be of interest to the Round Valley Indian community.
Nome Cult Walk Event and History - Visit this site for a description of the annual Nome Cult Walk and its history. The Nome Cult Trail was a tragic chapter in our state's history; it is also a story about the resilience and strength of California Indians.
California Indian Days celebration will be held September 23, 24, and 25, 2005, in Covelo, California. The Round Valley Indian Health Center will kick off the event with their annual Health Fair Friday the 23rd. The day begins with a walk run competition for all ages. There are many booths with health information and screening activities. Live music and a barbeque top off the day’s events. California Indian Days celebration continues throughout the weekend, "This event is a time to celebrate with a gathering of many, many tribes to share songs, dances, stories and food. It is a time to meet new friends and relatives, a time to experience a true cultural connection. A time to stand tall and be proud of our American Indian heritage. All tribal nations are welcome, as well as the general public." (California Indian Days web site).
